Re: Unrealistic Expectations?
that would be interesting to see.
Re: Unrealistic Expectations?JJ has been saying since the Hawaii Bowl the team is a year ahead of schedule. Take it for what it is and just enjoy what we are seeing on the field. All of this questioning, "what is wrong with the offense", tells me as the team improves our expectations rise. That is a nice problem to have.
PONY UP!! BEAT THE COUGARS!! GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Unrealistic Expectations?
Or as JJ said, it’s funny how fast expectations change.
Re: Unrealistic Expectations?JJ also said there would be 80,000 in attendance at 59,000 seat Jones Stadium in Lubbock.

Re: Unrealistic Expectations?
He also said it costs 60k a semester to go to SMU. And it cost 800 billion for security at the last Olympics. Yeah, he does that sometimes...
Re: Unrealistic Expectations?Zach Line is leading C-USA in total yards rushing and yards per carry and somehow HE is included in discussions as to why our offense is faltering? I don't get that at all. He has been our STAR, what a pleasant surprise. I am now wondering if he has an NFL future at FB.
Here is my $.02 As with everyone else on this board, very pleased with JJ and I hope he stays another 10 years. That said, I have been disappointed in the receivers he has recruited so far. Given his reputation, I was expecting more. For RnS to achieve what we want it to, I think we need an upgrade here. To date JJ has recruited much better quality at RB than WR....go figure.
Re: Unrealistic Expectations?I don't think anyone has faulted Line....people just want to see a little bit of fields...nothing wrong with that...With Line playing Special Teams as well, he could prob use the break...
We are talking about taking 3-4 touches away from line...
Re: Unrealistic Expectations?
I tend to agree that we have been able to get good RBs and develop them to be better. Our WRs are taking longer to get better. None of our players had more than 3 stars and most 2 coming out of high school. This is just a reflection of the fact that the talent pool we have been able to recruit from has been less developed than the pool schools that belong to an AQ conference recruit from. As time goes on we will get a few more 4 star recruits, but the main thing I look to happen is we will not be playing freshmen and redshirt freshmen. If we get a 3 star who has potential and the coaching staff can develop him so he doesn't play until his third year we will not be seeing so many learning mistakes. With this coaching staff if we were in an AQ conference, we would be a national contender within another year or two.
Re: Unrealistic Expectations?Line is a good back. We just need a change of pace speedy breakaway type back to compliment him.

Re: Unrealistic Expectations? As long as that change of pace back can block, I agree. Very few freshmen get that figured out very quickly.
Re: Unrealistic Expectations?I went through this thread twice to be sure. In four pages I see no mention of Sanders moving on to the next level. I am not taking away from the merit of any player mentioned and I'd like to see Fields on offense more myself, but didn't Emmanuel Sanders contribute to both the passing attack and return game?
