Re: Question to the "prime seating" season ticket holders ...Not happy at all about the Houston (or Navy) games, but I predicted us to end 6-6ish and we're right on pace for that.

Re: Question to the "prime seating" season ticket holders ...
I don't think anyone on this thread is wearing "rose colored" glasses. I think the people that came into CUSA play expecting the team to run the table and end up 10-2 are the ones wearing the glasses. Honestly, anyone with football knowledge knows that we grossly overachieved last year based on the talent level that we have. We found a way to win more than half of our "close" games and seemed to get the bounces more often than not. That doesn't go on forever. Most hardcore supporters were predicting a 6-6/7-5 season with the expectation that this season would be another step in the right direction. I was hoping that we would be 5-3 at this point in the season, but was prepared to be 4-4. That is exactly where we should be. Houston is a far superior team in terms of talent and that showed last night, as did our lack of talent and depth. If you want to jump off the ship because we had a bad game where we got our tails beat, then fine, feel free to do so. However, you should also know that when you are building something up from absolutely zero, games like last night will happen. The coaches will make sure the kids will learn from that experience and that will help us win games like this in the future.
Re: Question to the "prime seating" season ticket holders ...Exactly the Cornerstone and the Commitment were a joke-might as well flushed your money down the drain. You were bamboozled if you truly thought SMU was gonna buld a strong program under those conditions.
But what Orsini has done in the last few years is simply laying the final few pieces of the foundation. SMU has had a competitive academic model now for 3 years. The next step- If you want a top national program it has to be properly funded. You don't build a program with magic pixie dust despite last year's Cinderella season. Rice didn't "build a program" when it went 10-3 and then 2-10 the next year. The foundation is now in place in every respect. Now we are building on the foundation which will require much better recruiting until we can reach the program's potential. You need to recruit well for 3+ years and count to 3-4 from the first strong recruiting class. I'm still counting. June Jones uses a simplied version of this formula every year "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Question to the "prime seating" season ticket holders ...Stallion - just a side note, how well has Houston recruited? they seem to have a ton of speed in every position.
I would expect 2013 to be a pretty good year and we can panic with bad losses then.
