we played the unt game for almost the last 20 years
we would generally start off at 0-4 every year
got a lot of players hurt that way
take some baby steps and build this thing up

SMU 86 wrote:TCU schedules a D1AA team every year on purpose. UNT loads their schedule up with harder opponents than TCU and gets beatdown which hurts recruiting. They also are always 1-3 0r 0-4 in OOC games and it forces them to win 6 or 7 conference games to go to a bowl. Gary Patterson said publicly that he only plays one stretch game per year. We are playing 2 or 3. Anyway we'll see.

In fact, you are wrong but don't let that get in the way of a good argument. Tech cancelled TCU for 2010 as late as last November 2009. That's the reason TCU scheduled Tennessee Tech. That's the reason they've scheduled all these Division 1AA schools because nobody wants to play them and they've had to find replacements less than a year out. They also have added last minute games with UT, Clemson and Oregon St all scheduled within a year of playing them
