We could try more of what we did last year (HB screens, rolling Kyle out, shovel passes, less option routes, maybe some 5 wide on occasion, more running on 3rd and short). It just seems like we don't even try to fool the opposition or play practically at all.
Ok. So is that fully on June? If so, what the he'll is going on? Kyle and the guys have to execute but the lack of discipline and indifference is coming from somewhere.
June does call the plays and he has to be willing to manage situations better. I know Kyle has to execute (his accuracy has been big problem this season) but having an inconsistent QB throwing on manageable 3rd downs is asking for trouble. June needs to make more of an effort to get Kyle in a rhythm early on so he can gain confidence. Sometimes I wonder if June running his offense is more important than winning games, he just doesn't seem as flexible this season and the lack of discipline, urgency and indifference that we've seen comes from him (him being at the top of course). I swear it looks like the players are waiting for a damn bus most of the time.

You guys are ridiculous. Our coaching staff is fantastic. This is a young team with several missing pieces.
We have a number 2 WR playing as a 1 and a #4 playing as a 2. DJ is a good number 3. Haynes isn't fast enough to be a prototype player on the outside because he can't spread the field like Wilkerson did last year to give Beas space to run free underneath. If Wilkerson and McDade are here, it is happy times at WR, but Frosh don't step in and play at WR in this system. Line has been awesome as a RB, but we don't have that quick 3rd down back like we had last season to catch flairs when everyone runs deep. We have a center who gets snap infractions every game, is too small, and snaps to the left every single time. And we have a QB who obviously isn't as accurate as last season.
Take the rose colored glasses off defensively as well. If McConico, Gamble and Bell played this year and Moore was still healthy, Crawford would be the number 5 CB and Thomas number 6. You just don't lose that many players for a team that has had 2.5 years of recruiting into it and expect to survive. Losing the DT killed us also... can you imagine if Frazier, TT, and MH were rotating at end like last season?
Next year, we have second and third year players to compete for spots on both lines, WR, and CB. If we struggle next season from a talent perspective, blame coaches evaluation. And if we struggle from a strategy perspective, blame the coaches. But right now, the talent isn't where it needs to be at certain positions. It is getting there, but isn't quite there yet, and the casulties in the offseason really hurt us.

all good points JasonB. And then we hear about teams like Houston down to their 4th/5th qb and walkons and true freshmen playing D-line. Or UTEP with a banged up qb and having lost their best game changing running back.
Next man up..

Finally, someone with sense... I'd still like to see a higher ppg avg though...

a little surprised we didn't see Fields last night; his injury serious?
