Okay Crawford and BT III, I understand you don't have the talent to man up at the line of scrimmage, but the point of this game is to face the WR at some point. How many times last night would they keep the 5-8 yard cushion all the way down the field as the play developed? I saw times when Banjo and some LB would get in the DB's face because of the cushion coverage they were giving.
And is Fields that bad in pass protect that we can't get him instead of Butler? I'm sure Butler is a nice guy, but all he's ever done is average 2-yards a carry and a long of 5. If Fields isn't hurt, then shame on him for not picking up the pass protect this late in the season and shame on the coaches for not putting their balls to the wall as the game was getting out of hand just letting a game breaker play.
I wasn't mad after the last few debacles, but this was embarrassing. I knew that Tulane comeback was a fluke.

was Fields even back returning kicks? I thought Acker handled those duties last night. Fields' groin injury more serious than I thought?
we need all our Ponies back for Marshall. Let's get # 6 and give ourselves a chance at #7

I sure liked the look of Al R. running the one KO he handled.

Fields still dealing w/ groin injury.
I liked AR on return, not only for the yardage he gained (pre-penalty), but the obvious passion he displayed before, during and after laying it out there to try and make a play.

Those corners do us no good playing that far off the ball, they need to be blitzed more and used in press to re-direct wideouts more. Hell if we're going to give up completions let's at least make the QB uncomfortable, we can't play effective pass defense with 8 guys for the love of God. Time to try something different. Some early blitzing could have made the difference in the game.

I approve of that decision. You'll notice the caveat in my first post allowing for the injury.
