But we have as much talent on our team as UTEP, even with injuries, so it flat out pisses me off when we lose to them. We also could have hung in with Houston, a team that in my opinion is more talented than we are, but we didn't give them a game. Do I think JJ should be fired, or that the game has passed him by? F No. But we are allowed to question his coaching, otherwise, why even have this board?

If we had played Navy, Houston, UTEP, and Texas Tech as tough as we played against TCU, we likely would have at least 2 more wins. BUT, we didn't. As much as it pisses me off to agree with that jack@ss coach in Ft Worth, maybe TCU is our Super Bowl, because we certainly can't seem to muster up the stones to play that tough against teams with far less talent.

And yes, I realize we had Sterling Moore in the TCU game and didn't in the others, but even the rest of our team played better.

You are right Big Hoss. Its weird to watch and really boring offense also.....nothing exciting really and limited big play action....Pull out all the stops coaches, a bowl game is NOT a given this year.

Waterfall effect. No Moore means bad corners. Bad corners means safties have to protect. Saftey protection means they get pulled out of the middle. Now the LBs have to not blitz in order to cover up the spaces.

Early in the season, the team blitzed all over the place. Now, teams either run screens or throw deep when we blitz, depending on where the safties go. And I think we all saw dropped deep balls against UTEP, Houston, and Tulsa that would have run up the score.

As for the point on pulling Padron - against Tulane,we were getting the ball back a lot, you can afford to experiment with possessions. In the UTEP game, they were chewing up clock, especially in the first half. I think JJ got nervous with experimenting, so he didn't alternate.

I suspect that in the Bye week, we will see the freshman competition, similar to what happened last year in the Bye week, where positions are opened up for competition and the frosh have a chance to win jobs. I think you will see Parks or Acker in the CB rotation next game.
