CUSA's strategy should be to dump the Liberty Bowl and try to put their champion in the Texas Football Classic. New Year's Day Game that pits either Big 12 or Big 10 teams. CUSA gets alternating bids right now.

I'd be more than happy to freeze my butt off in Memphis. Come on New Years on Beale Street. Can't beat it.

I will agree with your idea about the Texas Football Classic. Makes a lot more sense geographically.

Playing with simple numbers alone, SMU would need a much, much higher percentage of alumni/students to travel to a game to match a state school crowd. That isn't going to magically happen this year if we wind up 8-5, unranked, and playing the 8th ranked SEC team in Memphis in the middle of the winter. We have had awful attendence for years and that isn't going to change in the next five weeks.

The first article is wrong. The agreement we have is for a trade with the Birmingham Bowl (see second article posted). The only way the CUSA champ would go to Hawaii is if they didn't want to play in Birmingham.

[deleted] Stallion! Let's go to Memphis!

And I bet we sell at least 10,000 tickets.

In fact we sell 20,000 or my name isn't Lepold!

you are out of your mind. Heck we probably won't get 20,000 fans on Saturday afternoon with 72 degree temperatures and a game for first place in our Division.
