Army Questions

Postby ponyfan84 » Thu Dec 09, 2010 9:08 am

Does anyone know if the Cadets will be in attendance for the game? I would assume so despite the holiday break and despite them being from all over that West Point will get them there. If so that's a sight to behold. Also, does anyone know, since it's a "neutral" bowl site, if there will be any pre-game activities? Fly bys? Cadets marching into the stadium? Parachuter coming into the stadium w/ the game ball (weather permitting of course)? I would guess, seeing how it's the "Armed Forces Bowl", there will be something involving the military in the pre-game festivities.

And last but not least, what bada$$ uniform will Army churn out for this one? I'm hoping the all camo from the VMI game make an appearance or something along those lines.

The Corps will not be at the bowl game.

There will be some cadets in attendance, one of whom will be there using a ticket that I donated.

Too bad. I attended an Independence Bowl some years back when the AFA brought a significant number of cadets to the game. Pretty neat I thought. Of course the USAF has a major base located in the Shreveport Bossier area so getting cadets and housing them was handled without much difficulty.

It would be nice to see the Long Gray Line make an appearance.

Attending the Army-Navy game (I always pull for the Black Knights -- can they please break the streak this year?) and visiting West Point are on my bucket list.

On Brave Old Army Team! Except on Dec. 30.

I heard that there will be tanks involved with the pre game. Ft Hood will be bringing up troops from the base to the game. This a large recruiting effort surrounding the bowl for the US Military. They will make the game a big deal.

West Point is worth the effort. Especially during an autumn weekend. Oh yea, games are fun too!

Word has it......

Army has two bands....one made of cadets that does not march but will play in the stands. The second is a group stationed at West Point. They march.

Army is not bringing the mules (I say let's loan the geldings to them as they are asexual).

Yes, but not in a manner reminiscent of any college band not from College Station.

( they're not going to march around and suddenly spell out "Go Army" or anything like that )
