Question, probably for Stallion

Postby ponynut » Thu Dec 23, 2010 5:00 pm

Couple of routine questions:
1. How many plays/games are needed for a player to letter?
2. Are no plays required for a red shirt season? Point in question is Kevin Pope. He appeared only
briefly in one game I believe, maybe only one play. Did he lose his redshirt?

A single play burns a redshirt. However, if there is a verified injury supported by medical reports he could get a medical harship if he has played less than -I think -it is 20% of the scheduled games and that injury prevented him from playing for the rest of the season. I think Pope is screwed.

i don't recall ever hearing of an injury, so i guess his redshirt was burned this season for the UAB game.

seems strange that they would do that to him just for one game.

What about Cornerback Chris Parks ? Was he injured ? I don't remember seeing him at CB, but in the Washington State game briefly in the last few minutes of the 4th quarter.
