SMU Gets Hometown Publicity

Postby Stallion » Mon Dec 27, 2010 11:29 pm

Be careful what you wish for-should hear a bunch about this headline

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent ... 5a5e7.html
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

I know the DMN loves this but so what??? In time as we build our fan base all over again this will surely change in the coming years. SO WHAT!!! So get your punches in 'now' while you can!!!

GO MUSTANGS!!!
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

two thoughts:

first, i didn't realize all chris butler had been through, but i'm glad to hear he is going to be completing a graduate degree as well as getting married soon.

second, i don't give a crap about the fan distribution. i know that i'm doing my part to support our guys, and i know that there are going to be a lot of other people doing the same. we have a school of maybe 9,000 people. the other team has a whole military branch.

This is old news, just about anyone that can read knew 12,000 tickets were bought even before Army was invited, much less SMU. How many tickets did you buy Stallion? You're always telling us how your a bigtime attorney at Bitterman & Souerstein, you could use it as a write off for some of your many clients. :P

I think everyone paying any attention assumed we'd be outnumbered. That should have been the assumption, anyway. Fort Sill (in Oklahoma) and Ford Hood (in Killeen are a few hours away, and this would be the only chance for those folks to see Army play live. If we came into this game 12-0, I'd still assume we'd be outnumbered in the stands.

Junior's absolutely right: the note about Chris Butler is completely inspiring. What an impressive young man. Thanks for everything you gave to SMU, Chris, and good luck in your marriage and career.
