I think SMU will be competitive in every game and has an excellent chance to have a winning season. We have a great defense, a "winner" at QB, and a proven running back. This season is going to be lots of fun because the expectations are so low.

How can you say that we have a "winner" at QB? While I certainly hope that Chris Phillips develops into a great QB, so far, he has yet to win a game at the college level. Maybe Eckert and Romo had better success at the JUCO level, but once again, they have yet to win at the D1 level.
Bowl game? Why aim so low? I predict next year we will get into the SEC and compete for a national championship. Phillips will leave school early and be the first pick in the '06 NFL draft.
Wow, being a sunshiner is fun. I shoulda started this a lot sooner! Although I have to admit I don't recognize any of the players in the first guy's post.
I should be disappointed I wasn't included with a "wait until 2005" next to my name. I'm more and more convinced that we will be very competitive in the CUSA-west by then.
I really believe this team will win at least 2 games this year and just might surprise a lot of people. The key will be beating San Jose. If we start out 0-5 and lose to them, I'm not sure what the odds are of holding this team together and finishing strong. If we can beat San Jose, we should have a chance against 5 of our last 6 opponents.
