Although I would agree that DMN is a top-flite paper, if you walk through "Fondren" Bldgs you will find old sports editorial cartoons on the walls from the 'old days'-- and they were from the Dallas Times Herald...

What do you expect the DMN to report everyday? HEADLINE - SMU STILL SUCKS!!!! Clearly the majority of people in Dallas don't really care about SMU as they certainly don't come to SMU games. Most SMU alumni in Dallas don't even come to the games judging by our [deleted] poor attendance. The DMN can only run so many "human interest" stories about the football team - most people want to read about sports when they pick up the sports section, not about some RB who spends time helping the homeless. Hopefully one of these days, the administration will truly get behind the football and basketball programs to allow them to have some success on the field/court which should cause there to be more interest in SMU athletics.

We have a choice here in DC the Washington Pist and the Washington Times (aka Moonie paper). The Post has some college coverage but gives Maryland and Georgetown way too much coverage and Navy, UVa., George Mason, GW, American, Catholic, Howard way too little. Since we are about the same size as GW, American and Catholic, we'd probably be an after thought up here. The Times focuses on pro sports with some small coverage of Maryland, Navy and Georgetown. Again, not much for the other schools. I'm lucky to find out a WAC score.
