New banners to hang in Ford Stadium concourse

Postby MrMustang1965 » Thu Aug 19, 2004 3:19 pm

The Ford Stadium concourse is getting a facelift in 2004! The Stadium
will include 21 new banners highlighting former SMU greats that fall
into three categories: All-Time Category leaders, Three-Time
All-Americans, and College Football Hall of Famers.

The banners will be 4 feet wide and 8 feet tall and will be spread out
throughout the Ford Stadium concourse. Installation of the banners is
scheduled for a week prior to the SMU-Texas Tech game.

Note from Mr. Mustang 1965: I'd much rather see these banners hanging in the stadium somewhere where they'd be visible during the games...similar to the "Ring of Honor" at Texas Stadium!

re: New Ford Stadium Concourse Banners

It is a nice touch for relatively little expense.

I think we need to keep pushing the "kid enjoyment" factor as well.

The games and carnival type stuff down in the south endzone are a great idea.

If the kids have a great time it will be "Mommy-Daddy when are we going back to another SMU Game"?.......McDonalds aint no fool!

The free-give-aways like T-shirts being shot up into the stands are great ......people/kids love that stuff and it's actually extremely cheap to do.......they need to be shooting those freebies into the stands during every time-out.

We need to push great food, the great BLVD experience, we need to push the entire entertainment experience until the team can carry most of the load.

The costumed Peruna needs to carry loli-pops or double bubble gum......people love freebies......it doesnt really matter what it is.....they just love freebies!........

Have the costumed Peruna down in the south end zone during half-time in a free picture booth......have a polaroid camera.....and let kids "get a pic with Peruna".....you know that pic will be shown to alot of folks....ongoing marketing basically for nothing....the kids will show it to all their friends and then their friends will say "Dad I wanna go to an SMU game too like my buddies in school".

Until we have a great football team, we need to be creative getting people to come to a game once, and then make sure they have a great time and will COME BACK!

GO MUSTANGS!
