Redshirt Freshmen That Will Make An Impact Next Season?

Postby StallionsModelT » Thu Jan 20, 2011 9:53 am

Just a random offseason question. Here are the few I've heard positive things about:

Der'rikk Thompson - Coaches love his speed and athleticism. Should be in the rotation next season.

John Bordano - Probably my favorite recruit from the '10 class. Had bad luck w/ an injury.

others?
Back off Warchild seriously.

I've heard good things about walk-on Larry Centers, an under-sized yet speedy wide receiver.

I would think Beau Barnes walk on DE from Friendswood will make contribution on special teams and in back up role. Watched in high school and kid can play. Saw at home over vacation and is up to 240lbs.

Did Gottshalk redshirt this year? If so, I've heard good things.

We did not have a lot of redshirts last year. Many first year kids played on special teams and at least got a feel for being on the field in Division 1 football. Hopefully many of them will help in providing depth next year. Ponyte and I discussed this at lunch today and actually have it all worked out. We should be in good shape.
