1. DMN local college section has TCU on front page and SMU discussed on inside.
2. Ft. Worth S-T local college section has TCU on front page and SMU NOT mentioned anywhere.
3. Ft. Worth S-T says Mitch Enright, our commitment from Southlake, is the TOP offensive lineman in the area.
4. Ft. Worth S-T says Todd Alexander, our commitment from N. Crowley, is TOP linebacker in the area. There is a big picture and story about Todd.

Very nice!
Got a link to the story on the Alexander kid?
Always nice to see glowing reviews about SMU recruits.

Do you think it's more than a coincedence that our 2 commitments are prominently noted in the "S-T" coverage?

No coincidence at all. The Austin/FW Morning News will try to ignore it, but the Ponies are turning the corner and coming back strong. When they do, I'm sure the Morning News will be full of babble about "our local team" and how they've supported us all along. I've never had a problem with the writers who cover us, but the management - them I can do without.

The little ponies were 0-12 in football last year. To what corner are you referring?

JT, have some more loyalty than that. Man, calling your team the "little ponies" is a new low. Sunshining is one thing -- but dissing your own damn team is another thing altogether.

Come on, guys. I share your frustration, but be realistic.
SMU has had ONE winning season in TWENTY years and we are coming off a winless season. TCU has been to five consecutive bowls and won conference championships.....but I really can’t understand why the DMN doesn't do a special ten page section devoted to the Mustangs?? And I'm sure the editors of the DMN are sweating it out about [deleted] off the 100 or so diehard SMU fans that currently exist.
There is a simple solution, win. When that happens there will suddenly be 1000s of alums and SMU fans that have been through thick and thin with this program and the DMN will be right there to tell the story. Until then, we just have to accept one page coverage in a section with purple puke on the cover.
BTW, if SMU had half the success TCU has enjoyed, the DMN might surprise you with the amount of coverage we would get.

Okay. That wasn't meant to be a diss, just emphatic, but I'll restate since I can see where you are coming from.

PK, that much sunshine is just blinding. Sorry, but I can't take it. I think the Boulevard might turn a corner this year for free booze and hot chicks, though.

Be sure to let us know where that corner is...I'd love to come partake of it...the free booze that is (my better half would frown on me partaking of any of the other).

I've noticed they can be that way.
Why can't they be more open-minded and allow us to enjoy everything our alma mater has to offer?
