Of course he will. Remember, at a lot of programs, even top recruits don't get significant playing time until their redshirt sophomore or even junior years. Sure, there are exceptions - even at SMU - and those sometimes are dictated by team need. But Massey is a very strong, talented guy who works extremely hard. If he's asked primarily to block this season, so be it. He'll get his turn. RB is a position where we have some options, but he'll play.

Im sure Massey could get more PT with the ball if he would use those massively strong legs for something besides dancing in the hole. He needs to hit a hole and run North and South, much like Kincade last year and Munlin in the spring the only way to be succesful behind our young O-line is to bow your neck and run the football. Massey could be great, lets hope he figures it out.

Richuel Massey is caught in something of a numbers game. Here's the thing: Foy Munlin is the man, and he's going to get a vast majority of the carries. He's a senior, and he showed in the spring that he's capable of carrying the load. However, Massey and Dorsey have to prepare AS IF they're the starter, in case something happens to Munlin. Chances are Munlin will be a workhorse all year, and the carries for other backs will be limited. But if Dorsey and Massey work their tails off this season, block like their lives depend on it and make the most of it when their chances to carry the ball come around, they'll take a huge step toward the starting job next year. It may seem like a really unpleasant lesson to learn, but take that approach, don't complain (it's not personal) and work extremely hard, whether we win every game or lose every game, and those RBs can make a case that the job should be theirs next year.

Go Ponies!
