STADIUM PARKINGI am traveling to the game from Post, Texas and i do not know the area very well. Can someone please give me advice on where the best spots are for parking??? i have been told that there is a lot of construction near the stadium and parking is very limited. Any ideas or suggestions would be very helpful and appreciated. thanks
I am no expert since I have not yet attended a game at Ford but I understand that there is parking at the DART lot (old Dr Pepper plant) and a shuttle to the game. That is just east of Mockingbird and Central.
My question for those in the know is....I know the Radisson is within walking distance, but is that a feasible thing to do??? In other words do I have to cross Central like I was playing Frogger or can it be done without a great risk of losing one's life. I would like to just leisurely stroll over and back if that can be done, but do want to see the game and not just listen from the ambulance radio. Any advice would be appreciated.
Very easy to walk over from the Radisson.. not like playing Frogger.. but nice reference.
The distance is going to be roughly 15-20 minutes via walking from the Radisson to the BLVD. You'll see some people walking from the DART Station once you get the corner of the service road and Mockingbird. I'm sure several will be making the walk from the Radisson too. If you'd rather take a shuttle.. just walk over to the DART station and take the shuttle. It's closer than walking. There might also be a shuttle from the Radisson.. just call and check if you like. Regardless.. it's totally safe and easy to walk from that hotel. Safe driving.. and see you on the BLVD! What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.
On campus parking (what there is of it) is prepaid parking for season ticket holders. There is plenty of parking east of Central Expressway and north of Mockingbird Lane...there should be signs directing you to the parking. Then there is free shuttle service back and forth to the campus. You can also find some parking on the residential streets just south of Mockingbird and the stadium. That may be hard to comeby if you are not early (I suspect the residents are not thrilled by it, but ... that's life folks).
I always park across Mockingbird (south of Ford). Sometimes, I am maybe a block away, but it has always worked out for. Although, last year at OK St. I parked in the Mrs. Baird's lot.
very funny reference to frogger. that was my favorite video game while at SMU.
i park in one of the garages on campus vis-a-vis my season tix, but for a visitor i would definitely suggest parking on the e. side of central as the other guys have suggested. that's what i would do if i didn't have season tix. the walkways over central are very nice. ![]()
You can take the Dart trains to Mockingbird Station for free with a game ticket, or $2.50 without. Then the free shuttle, or walk to the stadium from there. www.dart.org
DART Station / Mockingbird & Central is great FREE option. The DART FLYER that leaves every few minutes from the NE side of Mockingbird & Central Expressway....Sort of behind the Radisson Hotel at the DART Station is a very good option.
It's FREE and they drop you off at Moody and pick you up after the game at Moody. Plus after the game it places you very close to Campisi's Egyptian Restaurant! BTW....I have rode the DART Flyer to SMU games for several years and since FORD Stadium was built I have never been asked to show a game ticket......I doubt you would have to pay the $2.50 even without a ticket. ![]() DART Mockingbird Station Mockingbird Lane and North Central Expwy. - Mapsco 36J (5465 E. The $2.50 is for the train without a game ticket. Every once in a while the
Dart police will board, and ask to see tickets. Not sure what the fine is if you get caught, but I think its about $200.
I always valet. However, being the Governor allows me to take advantage of certain perks not available to most of society.
