FOY STATUS??

Postby Diehard Pony » Mon Aug 30, 2004 2:09 pm

Anybody heard anything about Foy's current status for Saturday? I think with Foy we have a shot. Without him, I think the shot disappears.

He'll be ready to roll. I hear he's been practicing with the team, going through full drills, catching the ball cleanly. He's ready. So's the team.

It will be interesting to see how many carries he gets on Saturday. If the passing game can generate some offense, I look for Foy to get 20-25 carries.

If Foy has only 20 carries that would be a great sign - that would mean we are moving the ball in other ways - which we did not do at all last year. I think Foy will get more work then that this game, and against OSU, but otherwise hopefully not over 30 carries a game.

I see it the other way around, gostangs. If Munlin carries the ball 30+ times, I think that means we're ahead or even, and trying to run off the clock. If he gets a lot fewer carries, doesn't that suggest we're playing catch-up? I get the sense Coach Burns's offense will be a lot like Joe Gibbs's offense. Maybe not in terms of schemes, but when the Redskins were in the Super Bowl every other year, people talked about Doug Williams and Mark Whatshisname throwing bombs to Gary Clark, Art Monk, etc. But when you look at it, they would get ahead and pound John Riggins until the defense collapsed. I can't wait to see the Ponies get a lead and run Munlin down their throats until the opposing defense gives up.

That is good to know. If they are making the decision on Monday that is a good sign vs. a game time decision.
