They sucked last year, and still beat us by two touchdowns, but I do agree with what you're saying.

Re: From the aggie board
not picking, but... At the Spring game, the Aggie secondary was in shambles, with 3 out of 4 projected starters missing the game. They were a NIGHTMARE, and not able to keep up with the WRs on virtually any route. IF SMU WRs can hold on to the ball, and IF Padron can be kept upright, it could be a shootout. I like our chances, and we are definitely overdue for a BIG win on a national stage. stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
Re: From the aggie board
didn't your earlier report on their spring game also say they held out a lot of key players due to injury?
Re: From the aggie boarddidn't hold them out, they were unable to perform due to injury...in 2 of the cases, fairly serious, with questions as to whether they will be up to 100% by September. The depth in the secondary is marginal for A&M...
The Aggies will move the ball on SMU. They will score points. My hope is that we will turn it into a shootout, and pull out one more defensive stop than them. stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
Re: From the aggie boardI think there is no telling what kind of team the Aggies will have until they start playing us on that Sunday. There was no rhyme or reason to how they won games last season and against whom. I mean, the Nebraska win was one of the weirdest defensive battles I have ever seen considering the two teams.
Losing to OK ST and MIZZ, and then convincingly beat other solid teams with a similar spread/throwing mentality. That was odd also. They didn't play anybody with a true run and shoot though, so it'll definitely be an interesting game from that standpoint at least. If I had to guess I think Line is going to be more important than he has ever been any any game so far for him. If their secondary is as suspect as y'all are making it out to be, then if Line and the O-line can force TAM to bring one extra guy to the box, then that should open our playbook up completely. If they easily handle him, then who knows what our passing game will do. Bottom line, I think we could talk all we like about it, but both SMU and TAM (at least when looking at last season) are currently pretty big crapshoots until the game starts to get going. Re: From the aggie boardyou know what's funny to me about that post is that they don;t think the game will be sold out!!!

Let me know when we start running anything close to a true run and shoot. "I think Couchem is right."

Ha true, well we certainly try. Let me re-phrase, they did not play anybody who at least claims to run the run and shoot. Usually, the team that scores the most points wins the game - John Madden
