Todd McShay rated AR as the best return guy in the draft. Not too bad for someone who wasn't a returner.

I'd love to see a team take a chance w/ AR. Not as good as Sanders, but Sanders' play last season should help AR's chances.

If you are even average in terms of arm strength (which he is) but have good accuracy and an excellent football IQ then you can succeed as an NFL QB. Dalton will be good, and you'll see Kapernick out of football by the time Dalton is a starter.

If I were Minnesota I would have traded down to the late first and taken Dalton instead of wasting my pick on Ponder.

I don't believe in Mallet either, because his skills are exactly the opposite of what I noted above - strong arm, poor accuracy, and a football IQ slightly higher than Vince Young.

Kaepernick ran a run-based offense with modest (at best) receivers. Now he's going to San Francisco where he'll have a coach known for developing quarterbacks and targets like Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree. Hopefully they'll treat him like Aaron Rodgers and not let him sniff the field for a couple of years. He's way too talented to write off yet.

Huh? Based on what? He doesn't have half the arm Roethlisberger does, and they played completely different roles — Big Ben was allowed (even asked) to improvise all the time at Miami, where he was lightyears ahead of everyone else on the field in terms of raw talent but didn't have receivers even as good as TCU's, who were good but far from elite.

Perfect comparison. Bulls-eye, sbsmith.

I like the pick for Harris out of ECU for the Cowboys. That guy is a play maker.

I hate to show my senility, but wasn't the 5 star receiver from Southern Miss who broke his leg up for the draft this year. Or did he come out last year? I did not see a S. Miss draftee and I do not remember his name. If he came out last year, just chalk this up to how fast time goes by when you get to be my age. If it was this year, then that leg break was a devastating blow.

Brown declared for this draft and wasn't selected, most thought he should have returned for his senior season.

Thanks. I think he may have been a first or second round choice prior to the leg break. This is where education does come into play.
