THURS PM....FOUND INSPIRATION TODAY IN A DEAF HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PLAYER IN HOUSTON...HIS DISABILITY CAN NOT HIDE HIS ABILITIES BOTH IN CLASS AND ON THE FIELD....HE REMINDED ME OF HOW MUCH MORE WE ARE CAPABLE OF IF WE JUST HAVE THE COURAGE TO NOT LIFES CHALLENGES BACK US DOWN....WHAT A BLESSING TO WATCH HIM WITH HOS TEAMATES TODAY...PONY UP!

Sounds like a pretty inspiring kid. I wonder if he has the ability to be a legitimate recruit?

When I was in high school, we played a team from a school for deaf students. Some of my teammates openly talked about how badly we were going to win, "because they're deaf." (That logic sounded silly before the game - idiotic afterward.) That team beat the hell out of us. They called plays through someone who had laid a big bass drum on the ground on the sideline, and depending on which rhythmic pattern he hammered out, all of the players knew what play to run by feeling the vibrations through the ground. Needless to say, they never jumped offside, and they clearly knew the plays. I'm pretty sure the final margin was more than 4 touchdowns.

same thing happened to me in florida - to a t - the florida school for the deaf and blind whooped us - a good lesson to learn at a young age - never ever underestimate someone
