I am looking at this as a greyshirt situation. I believe they will all be here in January. We will be okay.

How is the news of bad test scores just coming out now? Isn't this something that should be addressed between the school and the athlete sometime the day before recruits report to campus.

At least it's NCAA and not SMU

Peruna's Law is still in full effect these days.

Is this how we landed his committment in the first place? Did everyone else back off because they sensed the chance of not qualifying?

The students and the school are well aware of what is needed to be done to qualify through the NCAA clearing house. It is only being made public now.

And you wonder why June likes Mustangs.

BTW if you don't qualify and go to JC you must graduate from that JC if you want more at a FBS.

Because it's not the kind of thing that schools advertise. Hopefully the players get their stuff together in time to enroll in January.

Well this was a rude awakening to my morning. Let's hope these kids get their academics in order, and can get onto the Hilltop ASAP.

For the record, WR Jermaine Sams, OLB Davon Moreland and DE Christian Holloway did not qualify under NCAA standards, but they are close to qualifying, and have ample time to improve their test scores or academic standing, and then enroll in January, like greyshirts. If they don't enroll in a junior college, other schools can not recruit them.

were either sams or holloway expected to contribute this year?

FWIW, both are low level, 5.5, three stars guys with no BCS offers and two offers each including SMU. Moreland is different, obviously. A fourth is apparently two star JC transfer Maurice Hood who also reported no BCS offers.
