On a somewhat related note, in 2000 a buddy of mine that worked in the SID office said they were cleaning out some closets in Moody and there was possibly some cool stuff in there. I ended up with one of those red Colts letter sweaters like you mentioned, smustatesman. It has someones name on it and everything, it was still in the original box with tissue paper. It had a big letter M with "colts" down one side of the letter. And they were throwing this stuff out! We also nabbed some of those life size foam backed pictures of random late 90s basketball stars that used to be put up around the concourse/lobby in Moody, as well as some prototypes of the big wall mural things that are in Heritage Hall.

Next time I'm at my parents house, I'll snap a pic of that colts letter sweater.
Sent from my Motorola brick.

smuphil, on a far related note, I stopped by the SID at Moody in the spring of '74 to say good bye to Lester Jordan, as he and Matty Bell where close friends of my great uncle. I hadn't seen him since my freshman year in '70 and he was preparing to retire. The guy had a terrific sense of humor and proceeded to tell me that my relative had gained more yardage for the mustangs than Doak and Kyle combined. I know I had a dumb sh*t quizzical look on my face. He reminded me that my uncle who was a major SMU booster from the '30s through the late 40's, was also the crew head of one of the main Southwest Conference's officiating teams, and its head linesman. I said yeah, so what. Lester then said, " well son who do you think places the ball". Nuf said.

I have a strong feeling that fair and objective overcame any sentiment emotions.

I'm trying to remember. I think when I was born there weren't any cars, but all horses were black, just like Peruna.
