2002 Tentative Schedule

Postby jettison » Wed Jan 02, 2002 5:29 pm

Here is a WAC release from (evidently) a month ago. Apparently, though, the Tulane game may be replaced with Texas Tech. Can we still play the Raiders in New Orleans? Happy New Year.

Going to be an exciting year! Just wish we would have put a few of the lightweights up front. If we'd played the same kind of ball at the beginning of last season that we did at the end, I think we would've picked up a few more W's.

The good thing about this schedule is that the first four games are non-conference... allowing for a little bit of less significant 'warm-up' time as opposed to years past where we've opened with a couple conference games the first month.

More importantly, I would believe next year's Navy, TCU, Texas Tech and OSU teams are more beatable than this year's TCU, UNC and NC State teams, especially if we play with less butter on the fingers.

And, perhaps MOST important, all the poorer fans now have a month of travelling no further than 26 miles west on I-30, allowing us to save for that beach bum trip to the aloha state.

On the linked schedule from the WAC site, it says that OSU is playing here in Dallas. According to the OSU official football site, we're playing in Stillwater. Could someone clarify this?
