
Paul Norman Hug Jr.

Paul Norman Hug, Jr. passed away on Thursday, July 28th, following a stroke. He was 68 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul N Hug, Sr., his mother, Jane Briggs Hug Martin, and his stepfather, Jacob T. Martin. He is survived by son Andrew Harrison Hug, his wife Lauren, and Paul's grandchildren Paul Alexander Hug and Ella Grace Hug; by daughter Ashley Ischy and her husband Jason; by daughter Katherine McCann, her husband Jay, and Paul's grandchildren Allison McCann, Elizabeth Luckhart and her husband Zachary Luckhart; and by his brother George Briggs Hug. Paul grew up in Dallas, and attended Highland Park schools through Junior High. He graduated with honors from The Baylor School of Chattanooga, TN. He was an honors graduate of Southern Methodist University, and was very much involved with his beloved fraternity, Phi Delta Theta. He graduated from the US Navy Officer Candidate School, ranking first academically in the entire regiment, and served on active duty, mostly at sea, for three years. He then obtained his MBA from Stanford University. Paul was a Certified Public Accountant and was prominent in a variety of civic and social organizations. He was chapter advisor for the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at SMU for many years. He also served as president of Dervish in 1973, and was a member of Calyx, Terpsichorean and Idlewild. Funeral services will be held at St Michael and All Angels Church in Dallas on Tuesday, August 2nd at 2:00 pm.
