Starting QB to be decided on Friday or Saturday

Coach Bennett indicated today during his press conference this morning indicated that practice this week will decide who will start at QB. The decision could come as late as Saturday morning. If he can, he would like to have it decided by the end of practice on Thursday.

His biggest issue with Phillips is we haven't scored a touchdown with him in the game. Yet, he doesn't hold him totally accountable for that.

He also indicated that he wanted it to be by the night before the game, as in not-later-than then.

sounds like Bennett is ready to snatch a loss from the jaws of victory again. Remember last year after evaluating Bartel against teams with far suprior talent he went with his "gut feel" and started the great Tate Wallis against Nevada-thereby ensuring a loss in probably the most winnable game of last year when Wallis had int. returned for TD. Let me get this straight -we have not won a game in 15 games and after an entire spring season, fall drills and 3 weeks into the season-a total of about 10 weeks of evaluation of all 3 QBs, Bennett is thinking of making a change against the weakest opponent on our schedule. Careful Phil you don't win Saturday-you may never get that 4th Division 1A victory EVER!

Didn't Bartel violate a team rule or something? Or was that the Hawaii game the year before?

That was Hawaii.

And perhaps Bennett was a better judge of character regarding QBs than we thought.

My guess is that he wants all the QBs to practice like they will be playing this week.
