I must admit that ECU is doing a pretty good job of marketing theirselves to the Big East, ACC, etc. http://www.ecu.edu/undaunted/This website speaks for itself - notice attendance comparisons. Would be nice for SMU to present it's case. While attenance will not the the key - comparisons of facilities, academics, and $$$ could put some other possible schools (UH for instance) to shame.

Marshall can make same argument as those guys....
Even with attendance , location is too big to overcome...UCF being in Orlando has huge benefits...
Its not about attendance with these guys its market

Nice material, but referencing Sandra Bullock? That just seems desperate.

I could see the the BE, but not ACC. I would think, the N.C. schools already in the ACC may not be to high on another Carolina school coming in. What is the ACC's stance on academic standing when it comes to expansion?
GO MUSTANGS!

With the snobbery that exisits in NC, ecu would face a tough go enter ACC. they are a school in nowhere big, with no major market enticement. Nice little school though. Go Ponies!

Fortunately, I have a frame of reference since I have seen the Mustangs play at ECU, at UNC and at NC State. All three are nice venues, all three are well attended, all three have rabid fans, but Greenville, NC is nowhere. Sorry, but strays from Camp LeJune don't get you BCS. TV suits dictate everything. The BE is not going to sneeze without checking first with ESPN, nor will the ACC. And if those conferences expand they will run any names by those TV suits. If Dallas or Houston is on the radar ahead of ECU, ECU loses, because there are lots of TV sets in Dallas and Houston, not in greater Greenville.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Holland is not a rocket scientist but has shown the ability to do more with less. He also understands that someone is moving up, whether its to the SEC, or the ACC, or Big East, and is smart enough to try to get ECU's name out there. They've shown they have a plan and are bound and determined to move up in college athletics.

Hot air maybe, but its pretty interesting that The Pirate Club, their equivalent of the Mustang Club raised $6.3 million of unrestricted dollars last year alone. They compared the N Carolina TV market directly to DFW TV base equaling its viewership of 2.5 million viewers. 48,000 at each and every home game gets your attention with an expansion of the football stadium coming now to 55,000 plus, and a new $15 million Basketball practice facility and a Olympic training facility under construction.
