Page not returning

Postby SMUPonyFan » Tue Jan 15, 2002 1:41 am

DMN reports Page has finished football to take care of his family. DP was a good man and a good QB, he will be missed, but it is time for Bartel, Luker, or Nixon to step up.

David Page was (is) a good quarterback, but a better person. I had the chance to meet him, and he talked at length with my young kids - who then asked for No. 18 SMU jerseys for Christmas. He's as pleasant a young man as you'll ever meet, and a very bright young man who appears to have a great future in front of him. He's doing the right thing by putting his wife and child first. We all should have been so mature at that age that we made such sound decisions. We all know he'll do well.

Never got a chance to play with the kid, but thought he did a good job on the field. Seems that he is a nice guy who has his head on straight. E&Y paying for Notre Dame or Virginia? I should have given them a look. Good luck Mr. Page.

Eloquently put locostang. I agree with your assessment of Page and E&Y. Oh well ... I just hope for his sake he isn't in the audit group.

I am very glad I got the chance to know Dave extensively over the past few years, and he is definitely one of the classiest guys I have ever met.
