In my case, SMU had one building, Dallas Hall, when I attended. The horse drawn carriage ride from the Dallas Train Station took two hours on unpaved roads. Upon arrival Robert Hyer, President, greeted me with a "are you a Yankee?" I said no, a swimmer. He pointed to the Trinity River and said good luck.
