pretty forceful comments by Vandy Vice Chancellor of Athletics. He doesn't want A&M-ever. You'd think he wouldn't be opening his mouth if the school was pro-expansion. Pretty shocked he would even comment on a pending university decision http://nashvillecitypaper.com/content/s ... g-sec-ever

I guess they did not want another team whipping up on them.

Whatever. That's what the non-conference opponents do.
Let's be clear. He's not against A&M, per say (or at least did not mention the school either directly or indirectly) but rather addition itself, which might even be worse for the aggies chances. I take this to mean he feels that 'if it's not broke don't fix it.' And let's be clear: He's most likely not the only one. There are plenty of SEC fans who share his sentiments, and there is probably another president or two that does as well. We'll see what impact that has on the vote.

Anyone read the comments below? A Vandy fan suggested adding SMU, TCU and UH to the Big 12 to keep Texas schools together and eliminate any recruiting advantage that the SEC might gain in Texas by adding TAMU.

Being the sole private school, I figured Vandy would be against adding A&M. I suspect that Mississippi State, Ole Miss might object as well. Then you get like Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina who have sister schools that want into the SEC and legislators that might tie their hands. I suspect that is what is behind a lot of this. They may need to buy a vote or two from the likes of Vandy, Ole Miss and MSU.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Yes.
Roy Kramer was Vandy's gift to the SEC.
Nobody is going to ask Vandy how to play football. But they have a LOT of pull everywhere else.

If the SEC were to make more money by adding A&M and another team, maybe he would change his tune. Since Vandy has no athletic department I guess the money would go into some type of general fund. I would think that might make him happy, besides, the SEC is already a professional league..

The SEC decision-makers will conduct a financial analysis and whichever plan guarantees the conference more income will be the plan that will be approved. This is no longer about "athletics" or college traditions. It's just a matter of time before advertisers will be allowed to purchase space on team jerseys..."the Georgia Bulldogs brought to you by Geico Insurance"
