How about an Aikman radio or tv spot promoting the UTEP game - we need help if we're going to pull off a sell-out - wonder if the terms of his employment allow that?
Genius idea. He can always say no, but getting him out in public saying "SMU is my adopted team, come join me at SMU games, etc." SMU has got to make the call. Give him the chance to decline — he just might say yes.

Good to have friends in high places, and Troy is certainly one of those folks. Nice to see such a notable name embrace the program. And definitely post the link once it's available.

I'm guessing he and Dave Richards are pretty good friends.

Exactly. It's great to hear our school mentioned among all this conference speculation. It certainly doesn't hurt.

How about he comes by campus and shakes hands with Texas recruits. Not a Cowboys fan, but his name has a lot of cache in Texas. He doesn't have to say any more than he just did. This is my adopted program and I love what they are doing here. We will get a couple of Starstruck kids.

Troy Aikman would be great for SMU in helping get future Dallas Fans to support SMU anyway Troy would be willing to help. Again, a good Marketing guy would see this as a no brainer. Not an SMU guy, but a famous Dallas athlete who already personally supports SMU.
