Re: www.smu2b12.com
You have always looked for the good in things, I should do the same.
Re: www.smu2b12.comwriteup says that SMU and TCU go together like chips and salsa. Really? I'm pretty sure TCU isnt looking out for us. Goes on to say B12 should add Houston and Rice too. Loses credibility with these references and punch.
Re: www.smu2b12.comSaw that, and while very dumb, doesn't hurt your case...
Re: www.smu2b12.comI liked one of the comments to add Memphis and Tulane to capture those markets. Tulane over us would kill me
Re: www.smu2b12.comhttp://www.athlonsports.com/college-foo ... candidates
looks to me like smu is the logical choice since byu isn't coming.
Re: www.smu2b12.comWhy the hell are they promoting TCU, BYU, Houston AND Rice?!? It has been so nice to see SMU as "the only team openly interested in joining the Big XII" and making its case, and being assertive in promoting itself and itself only. I like the stability and economic impact arguments, and sure TCU and Houston could make the same argument as well, but lets not make it for them. SMU wants in! SMU is growing! SMU adds stability and growth!...and oh, would you mind taking my friend Rice also?...you see, we're really good friends and, uh, I'd hate to leave him behind. Weak.

Re: www.smu2b12.comHate the mentioning of Houston or TCU yet alone Rice or Tulane.
The most interesting point outside of directly arguing what we bring is what Texas, the state, loses. "[Should the Big 12 dissolve] losses to Texas could include almost $371.8 million in output annually and 5,764 jobs. In addition, the state government would lose more than $19 million in tax revenue each year associated with this foregone economic activity." Would the state legislation not put pressure on UT for A) the survival of the B12 and B) keeping the economic benefit in house (i.e. adding SMU, TCU, Houston)? What big alternatives are out there that would seriously consider joining the B12? Adding Memphis does nothing, adding Louisville, really? That's the fix? Colorado State? Give me a break. ND and BYU want no part of this without a sweetheart deal. To me the obvious calls go to TCU, Houston, SMU. Go to 12 regionally. Build the conference. Become what Texans watch on Saturday's instead of tuning into SEC games.
Re: www.smu2b12.comThe addition of a Louisville, Memphis or other second tier school would indicate that the whorens do not plan on staying in the b12-3 very much longer.
GO PONIES!!!
