by this time Nebraska was already in the Big 10...what gives?
I'm not closing the door on A&M getting hung out to dry...which would delight me to almost no end.

Re: No Response From SECLegal stuff.
A&M has been covering all their bases to make sure they don't get sued and that the politicians stayed out of it. SEC has legal maneuvering to do in order to activate a clause in their tv contract that would allow them to renegotiate with the addition of new members. (Something about any new team having to approach them, rather than the sec adding a team to re-open their contract.) With Nebraska, the Big Ten was actively seeking a new member, and their tv contract was coming to an end, so they didn't have contract problems adding a new member. Nebraska also didn't have any other state institutions in the conference to deal with, so the politicians all stayed out of it. The Big 12 also needed to get Colorado out on the same schedule as Nebraska, so they settled the exit fee issues fairly amicably. A&M's departure is a little more tricky because this could mean the end of the conference at this point. If not, the next departure....ahem....Missouri....will end it for sure. They want to make sure they don't get sued by an ISU, Baylor, KSU, etc. who might end up left out of a BCS conference instead of making a couple hundred million over the next decade. Basically, a number of things have to happen in order for everyone to satisfy all of their legal issues. They have been saying since the day this first broke that it was a done deal, but it would take 14-21 days to fully resolve. They should have their official offer from the SEC next week, if not in the next 2 days.
