TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Prosecutors have charged suspended Tulsa wide receiver Damaris Johnson with one count of felony embezzlement.

According to online court records, an arrest warrant also was issued Wednesday for Johnson, the NCAA all-purpose yardage record-holder.

Johnson was questioned last week after his girlfriend, Chamon Jones, was arrested on an embezzlement complaint.

Police say that Jones, who works at a local Macy's, sold more than $1,500 worth of merchandise to Johnson for just under $13 on one occasion. Officers also alleged that Jones charged Johnson 34 cents for merchandise totaling $1,283.

Head football coach Bill Blankenship last week suspended Johnson indefinitely. Court records didn't indicate if Johnson had retained an attorney.

Tulsa opens the season Saturday at top-ranked Oklahoma.

I am not a lawyer or in law enforcement, but this sounds pretty serious. Shouldn't he be charged as well, since he obviously had to know what she was doing and aided in the commitment of a felony?

I guess my question is answered. I can't imagine him getting back before our game or maybe the season. If you were coach would you allow him back why this is getting sorted out? Sounds like they got him dead to rights.

What a dumb a**.
