bayless has the distinction of using those rumors for his own profit...from the interview that seemed to be aikman's main gripe

Would it be okay if the rumors were true? Seems to me the issue is not the content of the rumor but depriving the person his privacy and/or ability to deal with coming out on his own terms.

But I get the point about the profit, that is exacerbating.

He profited to the extant that he also profited off of Switzer, Irvin, Smith, both Jerry's, etc. Isn't some of that what we want reporters to do and privacy what athletes give up in exchange for the salary? I really thought Bayless just carried Switzer's water re: Aikman. But if Boys Will Be Boys or any other book or player confession is to be believed those guys did plenty to their standing in conservative circles before the hack took a run. Just asking, but did Troy ever sue Skipper for what he wrote? And threatening to hit someone for calling you gay 15 years ago is pretty weak/ Lady Macbeth. I'm out on it though. I would like to let this die also. We will have to disagree on a couple of your points. My last point is Bayless is supposed to be a journalist, and my understanding of what they teach in J School, one should have at least a couple of sources for one's reporting. If not - don't print. Maybe we can all just agree Bayless is a turd on multiple levels and leave it at that.
