Bennett showed some class when.....I thought the Pony staff did a VERY NICE job of incorporating as many players as possible into the victory - Blackmon pass into endzone, Nixon playing, etc.... Shows a glimpse of hte true character and class that Bennett and COmpnay will operate under once they get the program back on it's feet - and it WILL take 2 more years, so be patient folks.
Cheesepony, I agree wholeheartly. I am afraid that some posters will say that they don't care about "class" or doing it the right way, they just want to win. Character building is why coaches coach and players play, I hope.
Phil has my support. His long term game plan is a painful exercise in patience. Could we have won sooner with another approach? Perhaps, but, since I will be a Mustang as well as fan forever, winning with class and, most importantly, taking the long term view is the right approach. Thanks, Phil, we support you, your players and your commitment to success, the right way. In two year or less, we will be proud not just of your teams, but your success on the field. Beat Boise State and congratulations on SJSU. ![]() Pony Up
Right you are. Coach Bennett is building this thing the right way: from the ground up, recruiting talented players and developing them. He is not afraid to start a true freshman (Blackmon) or a transfer walk-on (Chris Foster), and he rewards those who put in hours of practice time (Nixon) with some playing time when the situation allows it. I believe more than ever that not only will Coach Bennett have us winning, but he'll have us winning while running a program of which we all can be proud.
Good luck in Boise!
