Mustang Club Tent/Duncan Field

Postby SMU21TCU10 » Mon Sep 05, 2011 6:47 pm

Anyone else get to enjoy BBQ seasoned with dust? That field they put the away visitors in was terrible. I know it was windy, but there has to be a grass field visitors can use.

I went to the campus earlier in the day and saw the cyclones blowing over the field. I KNEW it was going to be bad. It would have been nice if they would have watered the field down before hand. My family got there early and were among the first to go through the chow line. The barbecue, undusted, was great. However, the tables and chairs were way too close together making it very difficult to get out to get a beer!

hah, I was wondering when someone would mention this.
It was a dust bowl out there. My group got there a little after 4:30 and it was very windy and dusty/sandy.
Not so fun when you wear contacts. We ate then grabbed as many beers as everyone could hold and walked over to the benches in front of the Corps hall of fame/visitor center thing to get out of the sand.

Couldn't really tell. Due to all the dust, it seemed like it was equal parts BBQ and cat litter (not MC's fault at all). My cookie was awesome though.

I had one of each cookie

How about the fact we only got two drink tickets?

Don't remember that being advertised and was not the case last year at Rice and Tulane. Being more intoxicated probably would have helped my experience at the game....

It wasn't like that last year (got tanked before the Rice game last year, it was wonderful), but they did mention it in an email they sent Friday. My group was able to adjust our drinking plans accordingly.
They also had a TON more kegs at the Rice tailgate compared to what they had in CS. 45 minutes in they were out of BudLight yesterday.

The only email I got on Friday was from Debbi Davies and showed a map of the tailgate. Did you get another one in addition to that? I got one on Thursday that mentioned "coupons", but definitely not two.

Rice had a good tailgate, we floated those kegs in no time.

Hrmmm...now that I check, it just said to pick up your food and drink coupons.
No number mentioned.
Guess when we saw that, we knew we would be limited in our drinking.
My group thought they did that just b/c they had a lot of people register for A&M and maybe the other games they won't have to do that. Hopefully.

Smarter than us. We were watching people with beer at tailgate and flasks at the stadium with envy. Won't happen again. I just wish they would have made it known or had a cash bar option. Oh well.
