What coaches stayed in Hawaii?

Postby couch 'em » Sat Sep 10, 2011 11:05 pm

Could one of them be the real Run 'n Shoot mastermind?

The first year in Hawaii had an offense 10x ours with a team that had gone winless the year prior. Doesn't sound like some high level QB.

that qb was a senior, who was bright enough to eventually become a successful dentist. I'm guessing he apparently had the wherewithal between his ears to make the system work.

After JJ left Hawaii for SMU, Hawaii burned through 3-4 qbs before they stumbled upon the current qb. They didn't look very good until they had a qb that understood and implemented the offensive system.

That current QB arrived at Hawaii as a JC walk-on. Seems like they've had a lot of success with JC QBs (Rolovich, Brennan, Moniz).

yeah, but arriving at that qb wasn't a stroke of genius. he was 3rd string at best. injuries and ineffectiveness of the qbs in front of him led to the change. my point is that it's hard to truly predict the on-field performance of a qb, until they actually perform or not.

Still Jones had a string of strong QBs with supposed bad recruiting. Even INT machine (Asian guy who's name escapes me) produced way more than BLM, KP, or McD

Chang had the benefit of playing four years in a similar offensive system for a local powerhouse high school program. Despite that, even he was benched a couple of times by JJ.
