Not a subscriber to the paper or scout. Just looking for highlights of the article.

Is he working hard to correct the problem or giving in?
What does he plan to do?
does he still see a future at SMU and playing?

I think he could be a great QB for SMU, but not if he is broken mentally.

Frustrated, but taking it well. Understands that qb's are judged by wins. Has faith.

Basically what he said when I was listening to him:

• He didn't like getting pulled, just as no competitive person would
• It's out of his hands
• He's competitive, and he's going to try to get back his job, but if he doesn't regain the starting role, he'll be a positive, supportive teammate to J.J. McDermott. Said they'll push each other
• Will continue to work [deleted] and off the field to try to regain the starting job and to prove to his teammates that he's a leader, etc.
• Has his faith and his friends and family to get him through this
• Doesn't like it, but will be fine, will be stronger for it

Etc., etc.

"It's out of his hands". That is an odd statement. Is he referring to getting the starting QB back or something else?

Basically I took it as he knows McDermott has to royally screw up for him to get the starting job back, so he can't control that decision.
