Can we steal him from Hawaii?

Is Morrison part of the problem?

IMHO, Morrison as a QB coach is a waste of coaching position. JJ calls all the plays and is the primary QB coach. He came from our local high school ranks will never be anything more than a position coach. When hiring position coaches, you would want guys that have future coordinator goals, Morrison doesn't have that and is happy just following around JJ. Because JJ is extremely loyal to his assistants, he will never get rid of dead weight in his coaching ranks.

I never of JJ firing any of his assistant. They mostly move on their own free will.

That guy is probably in line to be Hawaii's next HC. Not sure why he would give up playcalling duties to come here. Jones and Morrison are responsible for developing the QBs and there is currently a problem in that area.

Don't forget, Rolo has the "Guru" of the Run & Shoot (Mouse Davis) as one of his assistants (receivers). He getting a lot of help from Mouse.

We'll trade you Mouse for Reinebold?

Sorry, we need a recruiter. We only have one out of the entire staff. I do see Morrison as dead weight, doesn't recruit and only mentors. I'd prefer to go local on the next hire but that probably isn't happening. McKnight got kicked out of here from what I understand. Maybe June wakes up one day and wipes this offense all together :)

QB Benching in Hawaii?

I have no doubt that Morrison is not a big recruiter, but printz's dad was very explicit that it was both Morrison and klemm who developed relationships with his son that led to him choosing SMU. I know some here feel they know why Eddie made his decision better than his dad does, but I will go with what his dad said and give Morrison partial credit for the biggest commit we have gotten.

Now is the time to bring Colt Brennan into the coaching staff.

I like Tebow and think he'll be a good NFL QB eventually. But I still wonder what would Brennan have done with Tebow's supporting cast at Florida.

I doubt he would have done much, definitely not better than Tebow. Brennan, like Chang, was a product of a system and was always evaluated as such. Given that Tebow's supporting cast on offense was far more talented, the 2007 Gators (the year in question) weren't exactly the early 00's Hurricanes or Trojans in terms of offensive talent. Besides Percy Harvin, the only notable pro is Andre Caldwell. Colt Brennan had Devone Bess, who is a nice player but nothing crazy.

As for Brennan doing as much at the pro level I'd say that unfortunately for Colt that's not true, given Tebow has actually been given NFL playing time and obtained two NFL rookie of the week awards, tied for the most out of last years rookie class. Will Tebow be a god NFL player, who knows? Is Colt Brennan in his league? Absolutely not, although he is an Omaha Nighthawk of the UFL. He's sitting on the bench behind Jeremiah Masoli!
