Re: Most Disappointing Players This YearPlease delete this thread. Can almost bet that this post started by a non college athlete.
Petty and childish to judge others that are doing a job the poster has never done. Go Players Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"
Re: Most Disappointing Players This YearWhy would anyone start a thread that calls on us to put together a list of all the players we are disappointed in this season when we are 2-1? This is simply ridiculous.
Re: Most Disappointing Players This Yearstupid post. 2-1 was as much as we could have hoped for prior to the season. Let's pick a different time to whine.
Re: Most Disappointing Players This Year
although this is just as ridiculous of a post...
Most Disappointing Players This Year
That is a ridiculous post. Are you really suggesting that anyone who did not play a sport in college cannot comment negatively on players' performance? Have you ever coached special teams? I assume so because I seem to recall some criticism by you directed at McKnight last year. Whether you have coached or not did not influence how I viewed that situation, because I acknowledge that people can have very valid opinions about things they never did. Grant Carter
Re: Most Disappointing Players This YearHmmm, so the two players that had offseason shoulder surgery are having a difficult time of it. Never would have though that would happen...
I don't think TT is up to speed yet, and probably either doesn't have the strength in his arm or is tentative. I wouldn't worry about him. If we had adequate QB play, this would be an outstanding football team. Instead we are looking at a 7 or 8 win season I think. I am rooting for Padron, but he is easily the biggest disappointment. The receivers are open, we just need someone in there who is consistently accurate. JJ misses easy passes as well. I will say this though - I always thought JJ had a little better arm than Padron. After last night, there is no question Padron has a much better arm and quicker delivery. You can see why the coaches want him to win the job back - he definitely has more upside.
Re: Most Disappointing Players This Yearsilly post in game three - see you in 5 games.
Re: Most Disappointing Players This YearWhat a stupid subject, evaluating performance after 3 games, against a top 10 team, then include a game where starters did not get a lot of reps, allowed back ups to rotate in early. Evaluate in late October when we have played the meat of CUSA schedule, just ridiculous.

Re: Most Disappointing Players This YearCan't believe you are singling out individual amateur players who are doing the best they can. If they weren't they wouldn't be playing. I would say as a group the results of our receiving corps and coaches are somewhat surprising. One passing touchdown for this r and s offense after three games...? The wide receivers are struggling to get off tight coverage. The head coach now having plays signalled in so he and another coach can coach one of the wr's who doesn't huddle with the others so two coaches can coach him through the plays with a result of one catch for 6 yds. Never seen that before. Shocking in that of 20-25 recruited players projected as wrs only one has become productive (although Beasley is too although he committed before new staff got here). What worked in Hawaii that is not working here since the coaches are the same? IS it we don't live in an area or state that produces D1 receivers and Hawaii does? I thought this would be the strongest part of out team and every wr recruit and qb would consider SMU and their exciting offense but it has been just the opposite. I don't get it.
Re: Most Disappointing Players This Year
i've had no problem with reentry. just ask on your way out. Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: Most Disappointing Players This YearWe're 2-1 which is exactly where the vast majority of folks on this board and the experts expected us to be.
We looked bad against a top 10 team, showed improvement in our conference opener and won big as we were expected to against NSU. We have some concerns about one key position (QB) but it isn’t like we have two dreadful options. We have two capable options just trying to figure out which on is the best. The D has improved, the kicking game hasn’t been a disaster (How many kicks have we blocked? How many points have we given up on the kicking teams?). Improve will be made in this area as well. I don’t’ see that any player has been disappointing. Some plays are better than others but that too is to be expected.
