Screw it. Let's be crazy. Go Indy. Put your non-revenue teams into some conference like the Southland Conference if you can't keep them in CUSA. Outside of basketball, and that would be right along with their competition level the last 10 years, no one cares. Then we can proclaim to be ND of the south. Representing the Methodists, tiny private schools, with those with no following what so ever. I guess more like the anit-ND of the south, when you think about it.

In all seriousness, everyone wants things to happen over night. ND got their national following due to traveling all over the country to play games way back when. Boise has taken that same approach since they moved up, playing just about anyone anywhere. (If it wasn't for their academics or location they would be a BCS team.) Our mentality seems to be, we'll play regional teams (TT, A&M, etc.) for money and tickets or teams we feel we might have a chance with (Washington State, Kansas) but we are truly scared of the big boys.

The crazy thought is go Indy, play anyone, anytime, anywhere. Worse case scenario is we are right where we are now. In a proverbial state of purgatory, praying somehow we end up in the BCS. And praying to stay out of the Sunbelt.

Dream scenario, we catch fire. Recruits love our "take on all challengers" mentality. Turn back into the Pony Express days. And I end up being a great lover and have both Erin Andrews and Jenn Brown begging for me. I love those dreams.
