I've said this before about Kyle but:

1) Not going through your reads -- fixable
2) Holding onto the ball too long -- fixable
3) Making poor decisions -- fixable

SO WHY HASN'T IT BEEN FIXED?! Isn't this exactly what June and Dan specialize in -- developing raw talent into NCAA record breaking QBs? Put Kyle in against poor teams like Northwestern State/Memphis and forbid him from throwing to his primary receiver, only his second or third. Make him literally count in his head after the snap 1,2,3,4...and then either throw it, or throw it away. Anything. He's smart, he'll get it if forced. If he blatantly ignores these instructions, fine, bench him. I just think all these things are player developing issues that I'm shocked haven't been ameliorated yet. It is obviousl that he has the tools. He throws a better ball, with tighter spiral, with the potential for greater accuracy compared to McDermott. He can throw a nice ball 40+ yards. I agree, some of it is on Kyle. Sometimes he comes in with too much energy and either skies his throws or throws footballs with too much zip at his receivers. Coach has got to know that and give him a few running plays to calm him down...out-routes or short passes, not slants over the middle. If you knew that, why would you call plays over the middle? My point is, fixing these things are supposed to be a specialty for June and Dan. It's what they are nationally known for.

KP is fine. I thought he played well. When you have two good qbs play them both and in a tight game go with whoever seems to have the hot hand. As for the end of game play and fumble. Looked like total confusion with numerous young players in and not knowing what to do so they had to hurry with a negative result. I thought it was appropriate result for trying to run up the score on a lower division school with a former SMU player as their coach. Classless! Anybody remember a few years back Baylor tring to win after a looong losing streak and ball on the 2 with a first down and 7-3 lead, clock ticking down and no timeouts for other team. Rather than kneel it and let clock run out they tried to up their lead and rb fumbled to other team which ran it back 100 yards to win as time expired!

I saw this in the spring and thought that it was an 'extra step' in trying to get KP to progress as a qb, but it was also telling that he required added measures to get him to see the field better.

"*New technology could help quarterback Kyle Padron's efforts to improve his accuracy. SMU has implemented a new video system that allows Padron to see the entire field and perhaps better read defenses. The camera is positioned a few yards behind Padron and stays in one spot. But using a computer mouse, the view can be moved right and left and Padron can read cornerbacks' eyes or how a safety is playing a receiver."

So, I guess he didn't progress. He still has time -- hopefully, he will.

That fumble was near the end of the game so what.

This is the game for JJ to figure out who's gonna be the guy for the next 4 games, and it might be KP and McDLT to keep the hot side hot and the cold side cold

i do miss the McDLT with the styrafoam container. that was some good stuff.

the Hot side stays hot, cold stays cold
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
