Understand this: The Big East's 'hybrid' structure is killing them.
Half the conference - small private non-football playing Catholic snobs - only wants good NE based schools and is most likely sick to death of hearing about WVU's need for a football conference. That's why they tried to bring up 'Nova, that's why they tried Army and Navy insted of doing what they should have, which is bringing in ECU and UCF and developing a southern-based football conference. These were failed attemps at a compromise.
GENTLEMEN, WE DON'T WANT THE BIG EAST. Hell, the Big East schools don't want the Big East. Damnit! SO and the other AD's need to go to the Big East football schools and be talking about a merger with THEM, not the damned Mountain West. We have NO BUISINESS in a conference with Seton Hall and Depaul - NONE.
West Virginia and South Florida need to grow some BALLS and get out.
Lawyers: Is it possible that non-FBS football schools control the BCS bid, being that it's in the Big Easts name? Could it be that WVU, Louisville, UCF, TCU etc. can't leave because if they do they lose the BCS bid regardless of who actually plays football in the Big East?
