Don't understand the hatred, considering recent history

I always regretted my decision to go to SMU over north texas.

So were all the Pony football players who didn't get paid during PonyGate. Touche!

Fact is, we get more laughs out of some of your North Texas love than anything and those in the Metroplex from other collegiate outposts who know about your attitudes toward "the University of North Texas" always take our side over some of your (not all on this board including a few of whom I know) just a bit snooty, snob-esque ways.

Some of you SMU'er's who are still so obviously stuck in the past merely need to take a walk through our 1,000 plus acre Mean Green Village with that shining new buckle of a football palace named Apogee Stadium; that is, our Taj Mahal (as former Dallas Cowboy Super Scout Gil Brand called it), ie, this football palace which is nestled between 2 ponds, a small forest of Texas live oak trees, athletic dorms, 3 practice fields;, tennis courts with club house complex, girls varsity softball stadium, a varsity volleyball venue and more....with all this for hundreds of thousands of Texans and non-Texans who annually drive Interstates I-35E and I-35W to see as they pass by this olympic'esque village.

And next year? A glass enclosed walkway/tramway will be built over Interstate 35-E from the present Fouts Field area over to the MG Village & Apogee Stadium to transport fans and students from our east campus.

And within 2-3 years? A new luxury hotel/convention center will be built inside the Mean Green Village to add even more to what will be a complex even many of the Big 6 conference school officials would say just as many of the Big 10 Indiana Hoosier players were overheard saying last week before our win over them and that word was..........WOW!

You're missing the point once more. We don't really care. Try not being a bottom-barrel Sunbelt team and we might take notice. Just like no one gave a [deleted] about SMU after the DP. Win and you'll be noticed. Win enough (like TCU) and you'll get the accolades. Right now, just enjoy your new stadium and better luck against teams like FIU next year.

All smack, lagniape and tommyrot aside (which was done in the spirit of a fraternity after a few kegs) yet ....congrats on your TCU win. And yes, we most certainly lost to Tulsa U

We of UNT actually want SMU to become a Top 25 program so when yall come to Apogee Stadium in a couple of years we will have an excuse to bring in some extra bleacher sections which will be needed for extra fans. (Apogee only seats 31,000 for now which is fine......for now).

Dude, speaking from a current student's perspective, we don't hate you. UNT is really a non-issue for us, and, to be quite honest, I think we tend to forget you exist. You are not and will not ever be the Metroplex's leading university. You are a marginal (at best) regional university with a new football stadium - congrats.
