Double duty
Anyone who saw SMU linebacker Ja'Gared Davis tackle TCU punt returner Skye Dawson on the TCU 11-yard line with 7:15 left in the fourth quarter witnessed a strange football occurrence.
Davis, who had been wearing No. 16 for the play, removed a pullover jersey with no sleeves to reveal his true number, 56. Since Davis was lining up as a gunner on the play -- wide out on the sideline while covering a punt -- by rule, he had to wear a jersey number below 20.
