The real reason for the Patterson rant?

Just heard from a friend who knows one of the coaching staff at TCU that they were on the cusp of the Big 12 invite before the SMU loss, and that support was so shaky that one game might actually swing opinion the other way. So, according to this guy, the rant was well formulated to rewrite the history of a clear loss as a CUSA attack.

I fully believe this. Looks like he succeeded, in spite of himself. Sickening to be in this position AND have patterson dissing us publicly time after time.
