Re: Beebe says NU said 'no' to money sharingBeebe is a mack brown tool and would probablly lie about anything to save his and mb's arse.
We all see how b-12-xxx did under his leadership. May teh b-12-xxx rip when it implodes. GO PONIES!!!
Re: Beebe says NU said 'no' to money sharingwell, nebraska wasn't for equal revenue sharing, but neither were oklahoma, texas, or a&m. but they obviously didn't have too much of a problem with it because they left for a conference that even shares some of the gate revenue.
the reason everyone is leaving has nothing to do with revenue sharing. it has to do with stability. the schools that have left, and now missouri, want a longer commitment than 5 or 6 years. if they commit for 5 years and then texas or oklahoma leave, they might get stuck in the mountain west instead of the big ten or sec. none of that changes the fact that beebe was a terrible commissioner, and just a giant [gary patterson] in general. the guy showed up at a UT game wearing a Longhorns shirt. totally inappropriate for a league commissioner. then he refused to send anyone to nebraska to present the division champ trophy to the team because he said he didn't feel safe. (presentation would have occurred in the locker room after the game, and his second in command was a former nebraska player who he could have sent in his place.) ....and he refers to himself in the third person. just like that classy coach over in ft worth.
Re: Beebe says NU said 'no' to money sharingLoved this quote...
"My gut is that they stay, they should stay,'' Beebe said. "I was born in Missouri. I have tons of relatives there. Both sides of my family were there prior to the Civil War and fought on both sides. I'm well connected. They have a right to look but I think they'll come back to what their primary connection is. "My strong feeling is that they need to be connected to the Midwest and I agree with (Big 12 interim commissioner) Chuck Neinas that they're a Midwest institution, not a Southeastern institution,'' Beebe said.
Re: Beebe says NU said 'no' to money sharing
Missouri was a border state just like Kentucky and has a lot of connection with the South. The City of St. Louis was half Yankee and half Confederate and some of the worst battles were fought in Missouri. There is no arse to save - he's already been fired!
Re: Beebe says NU said 'no' to money sharing
I don't think MU has any options though...SEC doesn't want them and apparently either does the Big 10. They are a reluctant Big 12 mainstay methinks...
