NCAA Question
Was reading the info on the Cam Newton case where the NCAA found no wrong doing. Odd that Cecil Newton admitted he wanted 200k for his son to play at MSU but decided not to ask Auburn for money and his son went there for free. My question is if the NCAA has ever been the ones to find the smoking gun in these cases or has it more often than not been the media. SMU, USC, and most recently Miami and Ohio State have all been cased were the investigation and the smoking gun have been found by the media.

Re: NCAA Question
the ncaa doesn't have the manpower to police all the small schools PLUS the big schools. so they focus on the small schools. they don't even know what to do with the smoking gun even after the media hands it over to them along with the dead body.

Re: NCAA Question
So it seems that with the Auburn thing, you need somebody other than the NCAA to find the dirt

Re: NCAA Question
its always been that way. DMN, Dallas Times Herald and Houston Chronicle broke every recruiting scandal is the SWC. Now the National media has finally got involved in exposing the dirt in College Football and we see unprecedented numbers of top programs headed for probation. Blame the Colleges themselves for intentionally defunding the NCAA enforcement staff
