so, what we want to happen is for the SEC to take someone from the ACC (preferably Clemson) which could then result in the ACC bringing in only Rutgers as a backfill. Then, of course, we want the Big XII to decide they really always wanted to be the Big X and the Big X to decide they really want to be the Big XII and hold their respective memberships as they are.
Then we could see a Big East with:
East: UConn, WV, Navy, USF. UCF and (Temple or ECU?)
West: Boise, Louisville, Cincy, AFA, SMU, Houston
I wonder if the Big East (assuming Rutgers leaves) would prefer offering Temple a football only invite to adding a 17th member for both sports? Scheduling with 17 schools more difficult than with 16? Would sure like to see home/home scheduling in bball to maintain/build rivalries. Bottom line is that Houston becomes our biggest rival (along with TCU, of course)

Re: Conference dominoes
Your scenario sounds good. But the ACC would probably prefer UConn for their BB skills. Either way, we hope that the Big 12 stays at 10.

BC is on record as not wanting UConn....not sure why. Either competition in New England or bad blood from when BC bailed out on the Big East?

Probably a bit of both. UConn really does make a dent in the Boston media during basketball season when they are good. Storrs is not that far away.
